Judge Clarence Cuthpert, Jr.

The Rockdale State Court was established in 1987. The State Court is a trial court with limited jurisdiction covering misdemeanors and traffic violations, prosecuted by the Office of the District Attorney. This Court handles all civil actions regardless of the dollar amount unless the Superior Court has exclusive jurisdiction. The State Court Judge is elected to serve a four-year term.

Under the direction of State Court Chief Judge Clarence Cuthpert Jr., the Rockdale County DUI Court Supervised Treatment Program serves to address the primary cause of this particular type of criminal involvement – a substance use disorder. It is a community-based intervention program which targets the societal problem of repeat Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (DUI) offenses.

The program uses a multi-agency collaborative team approach to comprehensively treat, motivate, and rehabilitate the participants. Participants receive services for a minimum of one year, which include alcohol and drug treatment classes, intense community supervision, recovery support services and court oversight.
